Agricultural Anarchy! explores the anti-establishment approach of Welsh farmer Gerald Miles, who turned a traditional job on its head by encorporating protest. Gerald runs an organic farm on the Pembrokeshire coast as well as campaigning actively against GM crops. As a result of extensive research and documentation, I reworked a pair of farming overalls with screenprinted patches stitched all over the garment. The patches are photos taken on the farm, quotes from Gerald as well as anti-GM slogans and illustrations. The project lead to the development of Treehugger — a playful and bold typeface inspired by Gerald’s work.
