Workshop delivery and zine design as part of Arnolfini’s Forest: Wake This Ground exhibition programme.

The workshop introduced a group of Bristol young people to cyanotype printing within a beautiful natural setting in the Mendips, UK. During the workshop, the participants created nature-inspired collages from imagery and found materials. Each outcome was unique, influenced by the creativity of the individual and the conditions of the weather (which impacted the quality of the print). Some young people used unconventional approaches which further added to the depth and interest of the artwork.

The workshop formed part of a weekend of activities hosted by Black2Nature, an initiative who support Visible Minority Ethnic young people to connect with nature. It ran alongside a lino printing workshop with Jade Harding and a series of outdoor activities including camping and rockclimbing.

The experience and the artworks produced were documented in a riso printed publication co-desigend with Jade Harding and printed by Earthbound Press

The publication was displayed at Arnolfini gallery during their exhibition Forest: Wake This Ground, a major group exhibition celebrating what lies above and below the forest floor. It featured work by artists, filmmakers and composers from across the globe including Rodrigo Orteaga, Jumana Manna, Zakiya Mackenzie and Ai Weiwei.
