Event development, design and production for a two day event at Nike’s NikeLab 1948 space in Shoreditch in collaboration with SEASON Zine. The event celebrated women’s football whilst highlighting gender disparities in the game. The name of the event, ONSIDE, is a nod both to the game, and the phrase ‘on the right side of history’.
Alongside designer Texas Maragh, I developed a programme of activities that engaged participants throughout the event and gave them something tangible to take away from the experience. Attendees were able to create their own custom football shirts using specially-designed graphics with numbers and illustrations as well as statistics around gender and sport.
The event also featured a photobooth where attendees could take photos which were transformed into football stickers with specially designed frames, inspired by vintage sports cards. These stickers were then added to risograph printed posters where you could form your own ‘dream team’.
